Heavy Salad

Heavy Salad

Heavy Salad creates a melting pot of melodic, psychedelic pop music infused with a myriad of influences from sunshine inflected West Coast Rock, 80’s synthpop, Dub, Funk Rock, West African Hi Life, Folk Rock, Alternative Rock, Country, Morricone soundtracks and New Wave Pop.

Receiving radio play on 6Music, Radio 1 and Radio X from the likes of Guy Garvey (Elbow), Jack Saunders, John Kennedy and Steve Lamacq, the band released their debut album Cult Casual, recorded with producers Christophe Bride in Salford (ACR) and Ross Orton in Sheffield (Arctic Monkeys / Working Men's Club) in September 2020.

Having released their debut LP and a string of singles, Heavy Salad releasedtheir second and third LP's, Long Wave l and Long Wave ll in April 2024. Recorded with producers Christophe Bride in Manchester and in London with the legendary Blur / The Smiths producer Stephen Street at The Bunker at 13 in Damon Albarn’s Studio 13, with the group sharing lead vocals as well as featuring guest musicians Martin Moscrop and Donald Johnson of Manchester / Factory Records legends 'A Certain Ratio'. Taking inspiration from their love of long sprawling albums, band favourites like The Beatles White album, Beastie Boys Hello Nasty and Sandinista by The Clash, Long Wave Part’s 1 & 2 is very much Heavy Salad’s very own mixtape.

Heavy Salad have played notable festivals such as SXSW in Austin Texas, Manchester Psych Fest and Party in The Pews as well as successful headline UK tours.

Heavy Salad works in the space between perceived reality and the abyss of your mind...
